I apologize for our country's shameful and illegal behavior. There are some of us who don't support that charade and theatrics.

The interesting thing about the TSA to me, is they've never actually stopped a terrorist attack from happening... EVER!!!

The most important point ever made on 9/11 and the PATRIOT Act (and other Draconian laws) is this:

The previous laws and intelligence gathering worked fine. Multiple agencies on multiple occasions warned the US government about what was going on. This isn't some tin foil thing or from Alex Jones' website, this all from official sources:

TSA is no longer about security. Not even about security theater. It's now a jobs program :heh: Can't end it because that's 60k more unemployed.

9/11 needed one security measure in response: locks on cockpit doors. The Patriot Act, DHS and two wars belong in the bushes. Oh and maybe have the Israelis as a benchmark on airport security, learn something from them.

Explosive residue was found. How else do you want it to be handled?

TSA is no longer about security. Not even about security theater. It's now a jobs program :heh: Can't end it because that's 60k more unemployed.

9/11 needed one security measure in response: locks on cockpit doors. The Patriot Act, DHS and two wars belong in the bushes. Oh and maybe have the Israelis as a benchmark on airport security, learn something from them.

Israeli style security, eh? That didn't take long. Well I'm going to burst your bubble real quick....

The cost to transition from "security theatre" to El Al style security could cost up to seventy billion dollars per year. Compare to TSA's current budget of less than 10 billion.

El Al security is invasive, intense, and intimidating. Implementing that style of security in a nation where the average traveler has a fit being asked by a young minority (let's not act like the demographics of TSA's workforce don't contribute to the dislike) to remove their shoes and belt would be akin to an act against God himself.

But that's okay you say? El Al uses profiling and you're a young white male aged 18-34, you run this country. All the "turrists" are dark skinned, Muslim, foreign or all three. So you're not going to be hassled, is that what I'm getting?

:smugfavre:

But :whoa: hold on. Not so fast young smug. :umad:

For profiling to be effective you have to profile and apply that information towards the potential threat, not who you want to be or feel should be the threat.

Hmmmmmmmmm, now given recent events within America, what particular demographic shows a propensity towards causing as much murder and mayhem in small enclosed spaces as possible to send a message then kill themselves in the process?

:ohhh:

Young white males. :mindblown:

So you're advocating for an extremely expensive, extensive and intensive security apparatus who's primary persons of interest would be young white males? Well hey, I'm all for that. Much better than the old "cockpit doors will take care of everything" school of thought.

Much is said about airport security by many. But few come up with any solution beyond the "as long as I'm not bothered variety."

But if I'm wrong I'm all eyes as far as reading a workable proposal for the overhaul of airport security. :sayword:
