The expectations last year were much bigger for the jays than this year. Last year the jays won the AL East and every media outlet was calling them WS champs as soon as tulo/price/revere came in. This year were just as good, but we are under the radar and the media is fawning over the cubs(cubs are on the Sports illustrated cover this year = cursed) I guess its because we looked less flashy that last year. Last year we had a
offense that was easily the most powerful in MLB. We struck fear with our bats. This year we dominated the AL/NL with GREAT starting pitching and excellent fielding/defense. Our offense was hot and cold and thats why we look less flashy than last year.
Breh last year the jays were stressed and nervous as fukk in the playoffs compared to this year. Even if 1 game is a very small sample size.
It showed in the first 2 games vs Texas and in the first 2 games of the royals series. This year we played playoff baseball since 2-3 weeks straight and in the real playoffs so far we looked composed, calm and able to do the right plays at the right time. Clutch plays. No chokes or collapses. We got killer instinct /experience this year that we didnt have last year.
We shut down the red sox in boston(very scary offensive team) 2 games out of 3 to win the wildcard spot, and we shut down the orioles(best HR hitting team this year) in the wildcard playoff game to play texas. And we shutdown texas in texas yesterday, with great pitching/defense, and now the bats are getting hot like last year
we aint playing
They were relaxed and had fun last game. The bats have the pressure off their shoulders and will continue their destruction for the rest of the month
