ABC News correspondent Martha Raddatz confronted Rex Tillerson on the Trump administration’s refusal to say how many more troops will be sent to Afghanistan, telling the secretary of State “The American people deserve to know approximately how many more of their sons and daughters will be going back to Afghanistan in a war that’s lasted nearly 16 years."

Plus, the US doesn't have any other foothold in Central Asia. And it has nothing to offer on the scale of Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative which needs a stable Afghanistan. Aside from ISIS/Taliban, these are the reasons the US military is never leaving Afghanistan.

The us doesn't even know whos taliban and who isn't. They failed that attempt at removing taliban miserably and only made the country worse.

I saw Eric Prince's op ed in the NY Times today, shockingly advocating for private contractors to be in Afghanistan, instead of US troops....He's a reprehensible person, the Times shouldn't publish that kind of deranged propaganda.
