Former President Donald Trump's Bronx rally on Thursday sought to appeal to voters of color in one of the most Democratic counties in the country amid early polling that pins him just ahead of President Joe Biden in key swing states.

The former president delivered his remarks from a small stage in the South Bronx's Crotona Park, railing against the presumptive Democratic nominee and his handling of immigration while casting himself as the candidate who would deliver for Black and Hispanic voters.

“The biggest negative impact is against our Black population and our Hispanic population, who are losing their jobs, losing their housing, losing everything they can lose," the presumptive Republican nominee said, referring to the influx of migrants to the city.

A black person in America is foolish if they think an initiative to round up millions of people across the country wont be used as a smokescreen to round up black people too. There's a lot of foolish people in our community. Many of them showed themselves in the Covid era and paid with it with their lives. And many of them will pay for their foolishness in a 2nd Trump administration. At a certain point we may just have to learn the hard way.

how am i a c00n for simply linking an article from salon, a left-leaning site, highlighting a voting expert’s warning about the inroads trump has made in our community because of democrats’ immigration policy?

posts like yours are the product of living in a binary world devoid of critical thinking.

Still, part of Trump's appeal to neighborhoods like the South Bronx — which boasts a 64 percent Hispanic and 31 percent Black population, while having a poverty rate 24.8 points greater than the national rate — is in the attention he pays to working class issues, Navarro said.

In contrast, the Democratic Party has shifted from working class values toward college-educated individuals, which has alienated voters whose immediate concerns revolve around being "outpriced" and having greater monthly expenses"

One of the very good things about this administration is its empowering of the NLRB and DOL, as well as its support for unions in general - something Trump and his administration spent years working to destroy. I don't know how a professor could weigh both parties in good faith and still come away with this belief, especially where Black and Hispanic working-class people are concerned. The Biden administration definitely can and should do a better job with communication and bridging the disconnect, as well as going after corporations, but believing Trump is genuinely speaking about helping that audience? Nope. He spent the entirety of his term doing the exact opposite. But again, it's on Democrats to let that be known. And they're not doing a good enough job of it, which I guess is the point of the article.
