Black people had no allies among non-black "people of color" when we sought redress over redlining and other forms of institutional racism that have hindered our mobility. In our community, black people are forced to see businesses owned and operated by other "minorities" who faced no difficulty coming to this nation with just a shirt on their backs and receiving financial support in the form of loans and grants that black people never qualify for. It's really crazy though. Growing up in the bay area, I've had the opportunity to chop it up with actual Panthers. Men so passionately pro black, yet they never had to sink to the disgusting rhetoric being posted on this website. They didn't have to overcompensate because they were actually about their community and putting in work! Panthers who were active in the 60s and went on to get their PhDs from Stanford.
