All they're trying to do is make Trump look bad and pin it on him one way or the other. I agree that they may not be going about it in the most optimal way though.

If Dems really wanted DACA debated, they would have had it in the Senate bill. Schumer decided to keep it out because it's a good poltiical football to use but not something he wants to really see happen. Pelosi too. It's why they ran her right out the auditorium a month or two ago.

I would prefer them actually lookout for people with DACA status. Trump needs to look worse? The budget was their chamce since they need 60 to pass it. Instead they caved and kids are going to get deported to a country they never lived in before.

Trump knows neither one of them have the stomach for it. Hence he's saying things like he's happy to shutdown the gov't over DACA. The long term poltiical calculus just doesn't work in the Dems favor.
