I just find it funny how #BothSides are convinced that their stance is "pro-Black" or empowering.

In reality, Black people giving up on the voting process because they believe both sides are bad is EXACTLY what the GOP wants.

Contrary to popular belief, the GOP does not actually want to have a strong proliferation of Black and other minority voters. They're perfectly content pandering to angry White men and MAGA shills and catering their agenda to their needs while using minorities as props to deflect from racist accusations. Having too many minorities will result in them having to actually bear responsibility to cater to minorities like the Democrats which is a nightmare scenario for them.

The GOP loves Black non-voters more than they love Black GOP voters. That's why when Tariq was posting #BothSides memes on Twitter and telling Black people to hold their votes, many MAGA types were liking his posts on his page and that's no coincidence.

It's okay to be critical of any political party because they all have their own flaws. But that does not mean that both sides are "basically the same." The GOP is embracing open White racists and supremacists and showing hostility towards anything that triggers their White fragility while the DNC at the very least tries to run those people out.

If Nury Martinez was a Republican, the GOP would be defending her 'freedom of speech" and decrying "wokeness" against the backlash while helping her keep her position. But, as a Democrat who held racist views, she was forced to step down from her position immediately and the backlash was insane.

"Democratic shills" are not the ones trying to convince us that not voting, banning black literature in colleges, expelling black elected officials for no ethical reason, palling around with white nationalists is some pro-black position. And no, being supportive of gay rights is not some zero sum victory over black rights.

Many people considered "DNC Shills" like Roland Martin, Lebron James, and Stacey Abrams just so happen to p*ss off tons of White supremacists and Right Wingers while people who play both sides of the fence or say things like "I'm not a Trump supporter but...." get complimented and even praised by them even if they don't necessarily identify with the Right.

I've peeped that over time. People will play that same old clip of Roland Martin dancing around Hillary Clinton to discredit him but will ignore how much attention he's brought on issues that directly affect Black people as well as talking to actual politicians and people in power about tangibles while showing up to school board and city council meetings.

Yet, the "non shills" are given many passes for blatantly shilling for Right Wing/Q Anon propaganda which is worse than what Roland did around Clinton. They buy into the notion that "the mainstream media is left Wing/woke and trying to brainwash people" even though that's been disproven time and time over. Fox News and Tucker Carlson Tonight alone are way bigger than most actual Left Wing media platforms. Rush Limbaugh ran one of the most successful radio campaigns of all time spouting Right Wing rhetoric. The Daily Wire is also hugely successful and has people like Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh selling books, giving lectures in colleges, and influencing politicians, schools, etc. The idea that the Right is being "silenced" by the "Left Wing/Woke mainstream media" is a flat out lie that Right Wingers themselves love to peddle as part of their martyr complex which many people buy into.
