1000% why I said that "Black people move south" shyt was dumb. Black people, wherever possible, should live in places with infrastructure and economies that matter. I think when most people refer people down south, it's to metropolitan areas, not West Bumfukk somewhere. For example, I live in Alabama and I would only recommend the Birmingham metro area if I were to recommend here or the Huntsville area. Reason why is because of affordability along with diversity and having a community of well to do people that look like us.

They probably aren't. That area that was affected is almost isolated completely from the suburbs. It's about an hour from anywhere significant, I'm talking, dirt roads, and part of it is so isolated that you gotta take a ferry to get from one side to the other. And pretty much exclusively votes blue. The white people there are red voters to the point of overshadowing the black vote but it affects the black people there by and large because of how districts are drawn for local elections. There's just not enough to make a difference.
