Y'all nikkas get in here and tell us why you feel bringing up Trump's implication that he's gonna have schools promote white nationalist patriotism and erase and/or underplay or erase the insidious history of slavery in America nothing but fearmongering.
No problem.
I'm so tired of y'all. I really am.
I dapped it - because NO ONE - not even Trump can take out the history of U.S. Chattel Slavery -- and the enslavement of our ancestors in this country. Nor the rich history of ADOS and our fight against White Supremacy/Racism out of history books or education.
I dapped it because - we can all agree we don't like Trump -- and he should be voted out the office.
But to use his dumb, racist/WS statement -- and then implying and assuming that means removing our ancestors enslavement, ADOS history and all that comes with it -- and claiming he promises to remove it from schools -- with no source, direct quote about slavery or AA/Black Americans in general -- and NOT having the common sense/understanding to know that he CAN'T -- is
tiresome.
I don't give AF what Trump
promises to do.
He can't. Trump can try, but he does not have the power to do so.
That is not how it works.
Decisions about school curriculum are made at the
state and local level - and textbooks or material school districts use is left entirely up to schools and districts. As well as the textbook publishers. Since, they write/commission and publish the Textbooks used in our schools.
Education is primarily a State and local responsibility in the United States. It is States and communities, as well as public and private organizations of all kinds, that establish schools and colleges, develop curricula, and determine requirements for enrollment and graduation. The structure of education finance in America reflects this predominant State and local role. Of an estimated $1.15 trillion being spent nationwide on education at all levels for school year 2012-2013, a substantial majority will come from State, local, and private sources. This is especially true at the elementary and secondary level, where about 92 percent of the funds will come from non-Federal sources

That means that we have to make sure we vote and are involved in local and state elections -- and making sure ADOS and Black Americans are on State textbook Commissions and State Board of Educations. Most importantly, making sure we are involved in our townships/counties and school boards about their curriculum.
That is something we should all be doing now.
Making sure we know what Textbooks are being used in our schools and challenging false, water-down history from those textbook publishers in all textbooks. Making sure Black teachers are being represented and making sure our students have the resources to learn and elevate.
Making sure those same school boards include a mandatory Black History course in every curriculum for Middle School and High School --- with our history books such as
"From Slavery to Freedom,"
Discovering Black America: From the Age of Exploration to the Twenty-First Century and
Creating Black Americans: African-American History and Its Meanings, 1619 to the Present.
Cause, truth be told our ancestors enslavement and ADOS history is basically a hand-picked footnote and summary in all state and local curriculums for
most schools as it is. It's many of us who are trying to change that. Do you all even know what they are preaching and teaching now -- cause it is i
ndeed White Supremacist and the promotion of White Nationalism. Are you helping to change that NOW...or nah?
You all are playing on something I don't play with or about. ADOS History and our ancestors and families story and fight in this country.
