Slaughter is the perfect word. Worked in govt contracting in DC for over 15 years. I can’t stress this enough: there are a TON of older black folk who are under-educated by modern metrics. But they have been in govt jobs for over 20 years. They don’t have any discernible modern skills. Office admins, assistants, and to be VERY specific there is a job title called MAPA: Management Program Analyst. As the name implies, it’s generic and essentially a catch all to get an entry/mid level govt job.

There are MAPA’a who came in after college making 70-80k and just by sheer longevity can end up around 120.

If they come for these type of jobs it will be disastrous. These jobs/people make up the backbone of black wealth. The parallel that comes to mind is the housing crisis. When you pull out the rug of stability on some once in a lifetime shyt you get unprecedented results.
