Just read this article on CNN...

I remember when I was still a midshipman years ago at an HBCU, they would have the higher ups in this pentagon positions occasionally come talk to us - the CNO, the Commandant, NASA folks...

When they were black (because they weren't always), it was always a source of inspiration, and they would pull no punches with us about how much work would be required to get to these positions...

We are a month into this administration's fukkery, and I still cannot believe that they just fired two top-level military officials ONLY because one was black and the other was female....

Even though we have been living it since late January, I still cannot believe we are living under this regime right now, that we are only 1 month in, and that they have other moves planned in the near future...

I cannot believe there are actually minorities in this country - including black folks, no less - who actually voted for this shyt, justifying that voting for Harris was somehow worse, as if the threat of a second Trump term was not fukking obvious when we could all see who was coming with him in his circle this time around...

That there are people who have children who actually voted for this shyt, as if these b*stards would be creating a better future for our babies to live in - especially our black children...

I've been avoiding the news lately because its taxing, and this shyt just reminds me of why...

Anyone with a real exit strategy needs to be looking at implementing it soon, just in case. Because if shyt really goes bad in this country the first thing they're gonna do is seal the northern and southern borders and nobody's going anywhere.

All that talk from years ago about internment camps and martial law, etc., that people laughed at and said "could never happen" doesn't seem so farfetched now.

The thing is tho, they don't get fired when the President immediately takes office. Similar to the FBI Director, they are suppose to overlap between multiple administrations to avoid being politicized by the President. Chairmans tend to retire when their 4 year term is up or leave on their own accord to do something else, and then the President nominates someone else.

The guy during Obama's first term retired in 2011 when his term was up. He was appointed by Bush. The guy Obama appointed in 2011 stepped down in 2015. Obama replaced him with someone that lasted into the 3rd year of Trump's Presidency. That guy retired.

If you look at the column on the right, they all served between multiple Presidents and they mostly serve out their 4 year term. I don't see anyone that was fired immediately upon the President taking office. They just leave on their own.

Trump did this on purpose because he's black and he wants someone that will put him over the constitution.

Was watching this on the news. They were so very intent on making sure they did not state the true reason why he did this. Couching it in a manner of like questioning his choices, but not outright stating he did it because the General is Black. It is just annoying how complicit a lot of the news media is on these issues too, in the manner they handle discussing the issues.

This is how MAGA misinformation always gets people. Obama didn't do the same thing. He never fired highly qualified joint chiefs of staff in the middle of their terms for no reason whatsoever. He let them finish out their terms and appointed equally qualified successors after. Which is why there was never any major controversy or concern in the upper military ranks like there is now
