This is theater for 2024. Trump and his advisors know he's not going to get reinstated but they need to develop a story/platform for 2024. He has no choice but to run in 2024 because if he can win prior to being sentenced for anything he may be indicted for in the upcoming months, he can slide back into the presidential immunity shield that first saved him in 2017.

Money isn't the issue because he grifted $250M from his supporters on his way out of the door.

I agree with you there is zero chance Trump will stage a successful coup. That's not what concerns me.

The issue is that he is pumping up his supporters to completely discard the rule of law. They're ditching democracy and aiming for a pure power grab. They want to convince their electorate that power truly belongs to them, that all power not in their hands is illegitimate power, and thus that they should be able to do anything they want to get that power back and hold onto it.

The Republicans currently control 35 states. They are trying to create a situation where Black and urban votes simply won't even matter anymore. Have you seen the bills they're passing and the ones they have ramped up? They're trying to work towards a situation where they can put so many obstacles in the way of urban voters on top of incredibly gerrymandered districts to the point where it will be virtually impossible for Democrats to win the senate, house, or electoral college again.

If they succeed in further restricting voting rights, if they succeed in further gerrymandering, if they get to the point where they depress the vote so much in urban areas and ensure the urban vote counts for so little that it becomes impossible for them to lose elections....are you excited to see how far they'll go?

He also has a Trump bumper sticker on his truck.
