I don't think they were planning to murder her. It sounds like they were potentially going to intimidate her in hopes she would ask to come back home. That's still pretty bad, especially if they thought of physical intimidation which should be game over right there. Since they talk in mob language, the suggestion that they were trying to murder her can easily be denied and spinned by Republicans. It would take Rudy's goons to go on the stand and tell jurors that murder was actually a plan, along with documentary evidence that includes Trump's knowledge in this plan to really end Trump's Presidency.
