I was just in France for my birthday, and was traveling alone, I guess I looked suspicious . The officer who talked to me, said "That's a long way for your birthday",- lol - with a real stern look.

Of course, the two businessmen are near caricatures of sleazy unethical South Beach Eastern European con artists. I'm surprised there isn't a pic yet in a tracksuit with gold chains.

And that coverage of the arrest was very cinematic, but it probably wasn't nearly that dramatic to watch. Although, I can remember flying out of De Gaulle, and the same agent that I talked to while checking in, was waiting in the tunnel, just before boarding, and I kind of nodded at him, and he directed the officers to detain me, and went through my entire bag, I didn't even blink, and said as long as I make my flight, do whatever you want. But, that feeling of being stopped, is a powerful one.

I was flying home to US, I assume I went though everything I needed to, but I was so overwhelmed with the airport, carrying all these shopping bags, and my carry on, I don't even know what I did or didn't do. But, as I went to board, the same French customs agent who talked to me hours earlier, was waiting for me, on the entrance, right by the plane, just like the Ukranians, so I could relate to that at least.

Lmaoo that’s prob why he stopped you, figured why as a US citizen you didn’t go through US customs. I know France and Germany have US customs at the airport being they are major hubs flying back to the US.
