Giuliani's relationship with arrested men subject of criminal investigation: Sources
ABC News
3-4 minutes
The business relationship between President Donald Trump's private lawyer Rudy Giuliani and the men charged Thursday in a campaign finance scheme is a subject of the ongoing criminal investigation being conducted by federal authorities in New York, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

The investigation became public after the FBI had to quickly move to arrest Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman before they boarded a flight out of the country from Washington Dulles Airport with one-way tickets. They have been named as witnesses in the ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI's New York field office and prosecutors in the Southern District of New York, the same U.S. Attorney's office Giuliani ran before he became mayor of New York.

Giuliani has declined to comment on the case.

Parnas and Fruman, two Soviet-born, Florida-based businessmen, assisted Giuliani in his effort to dig up dirt on Joe Biden and his family. The association among the three men goes back several years. Giuliani has represented Parnas and Fruman in the past.

The two men were charged Thursday with four counts, including conspiracy to commit campaign finance fraud, false statements to the Federal Election Commission, and falsification of records.

Two associates of Parnas and Fruman, David Correira and Andrey Kukushkin, were indicted along with Parnas and Fruman on Thursday. William Sweeney, FBI assistant director in charge of the New York Field office, said at a Thursday news conference that Kukushkin was taken into custody in San Francisco, while Correia had yet to be arrested.

In his first reaction to the indictments on Thursday, President Trump said he doesn't know the associates of Rudy Giuliani -- even though he may be in a photo with one of them.

"I don't know those gentleman. That is possible I have a picture with them because I have a picture with everybody -- I have a picture with everybody here. But somebody said there may be a picture with -- at a fundraiser or somewhere so, but I have pictures with everybody. I don't know if there's anybody I don't have pictures with. I don't know them," Trump said.

"You have to ask Rudy. I just don't know," Trump told reporters as he departed the White House on his way to a political rally in Minnesota on Thursday.

@kyledcheney
Just reemphasizing because the timing is crazy:

Literally minutes after Yovanovitch testified that Deputy Secretary of State Sullivan told her she did nothing to warrant her ouster from Ukraine, Trump announced nomination of Sullivan as the next ambassador to Russia.
Kyle Cheney

@kyledcheney
Replying to @kyledcheney
Perhaps most remarkable: Yovanovitch just told lawmakers that it was Sullivan - the new nominee to Russia - who told her she had done nothing wrong, per NYT.

To each his own and this isn't directed at you in anyway, but I could never be friendly or even speak to a Trump supporter unless it was required in some way. I couldn't live it down with myself. As much shyt as I pop online about Trump and his worshippers in his cult, there's no way I could be a hypocrite and treat them like they're worthy of respect as humans.

You're openly advocating for the destruction of my existence supporting him. Fukk off.

:pacspit:

:wow:

:salute:

I think most of you know that I'm an old white guy. If not, surprise!!! :pachaha:

:old: :mjpls:

I was raised by a single mother, on welfare, with 4 siblings (5 of us kids in total). We didn't have any consistent contact with our family because we moved across the country to California (East Oakland, Yeah That's Right!! :D) so it was just us up until my teenage years. We were all we had.....

My children are mixed. My wife is Black, I live in a household where I'm the white guy and everyone else in the house is Black or mixed. I have effectively cut off my immediate family now because they are Trump supporters. I've used your bolded sentence almost verbatim with them "...You're openly advocating for the destruction of my family/kids by supporting him..."
and it falls on deaf ears. They of course don't mean 'my wife' or 'my kids'....but those pesky illegal aliens (the ones that are actively trying to take my families jobs (you know, the ones that don't require a degree because guess what, only 2 of us even tried to make it to college))..

They don't want to see that their support of Trump's policies is a slippery slope. Today it's the illegal immigrants, tomorrow it could very well be Black folks.

To your other point, I don't (willingly) interact with Trump supporters outside of a business setting where I don't have a choice. And even then, I don't ask about their political leanings so I don't know who is/isn't pro Trump. I live in VA now so I'm surrounded by them, but I don't engage.

I have derided my family and Mother on FB for their outlandish posts and even my kids know (without me ever stating it) that there's a rift between Dad and Grandma. My Mom hasn't spoken to my kids for several years now. Terrible? Absolutely. But how in good faith can I let my most precious family be put in a position where they can't tell if Grandma loves them or if her posting that meme on FB was directed at them (or their like)?

I check in occasionally (read: rarely) via text with them to ask how they're doing, but nothing deeper than that. I spoke with my Mom last week for the first time in well over a year, and I love her!

But that person she is now is NOT the person I knew growing up and that is NOT the person she taught me to be. It's disappointing.

And the kicker in all this:
1 sister: Daughter is 1/2 Mexican
1 sister: Married to a Black man
1 sister: Daughter is a lesbian

So after all that, @New Jeruzalem Journalist, I completely understand your point and agree so much. If you're for him, you're against me and my kids. And there's not a lot of things in this world that I'd die for, but the little evil minions called my kids?? All day every day.

It’s some depressing shyt. Had the same conversation with several relatives of my own too. I don’t recognize half my family anymore. It’s like they changed overnight. I’m just glad all my friends knew what was up from the start.

LMMFAO!

"...but heyyo I'm white, I guess my game is hockey..."

In all fairness (to myself) I had my pics posted on SOHH @2000 on the original SOHH Pic Page (shot out to the SOHHG's).

EDIT: Yes, this means that I'm coming up on knowing some of you folks for 20 years. Don't do the math.

:old:

EDIT 2: I remember @New Jeruzalem Journalist having his pic up there too so.......

Ah, yes. The old SOHH pic page circa 2000, early 2001. I thought most of HL already knew you were a :old: white dude, but I guess these young whipper snappers weren't as up on pre-twitter internet forum game as I thought :skip:.

And yeah my man. That has to be tough as hell pretty much being put into a position where you have to disown your own mother, but much respect and salute to you for standing by your seeds and your principles:salute:. You're setting a life example and lesson that is priceless and can't be replicated. One that ironically, your mother probably instilled in you as a child before she lost her way.

I'm the son of a former NOI minister who ran with a boatload of notable revolutionaries from Mumia, to Geronimo Pratt, Muhammad Ali, etc. The list could go on for days listing everyone my pops rubbed elbows with, so thankfully, disowning family for supporting Trump will never be one of my concerns :russ:

Dope. When I was @ 15, I was working at a place and a Black woman came in on a semi regular basis. One day after she left my boss asked me if I knew who she was. I didn't so he told me, "that's Angela Davis..".

:whew:

So the next time she came in, I asked her and yep, it was her. So we chatted about all types of things when she'd come in and one day she recommended that I read the Autobiography of Malcom X. Really changed my life to be honest.

I'll always appreciate her for her time and talks as well as all the work she (and others) put in.

A white chick that I’ve been digging out for a few years now posted the other day that she supported Trump, first time seeing her post about politics. I can’t fukk with her anymore because I have morals and shyt. Even though she was a professional head giver, I’m turned off by the fact that she supports a bigoted clown. Am I in the wrong?
