I was disgusted with people trying to make reasoned cases that these hellborne decrepit scions of slavemaster ass Senate Republicans might be swayed toward their better angels to stand tall for the republic and the Constitution and remove Trump.

this was the official green light.they won't even allow witnesses at his impeachment trial. the head of senate intelligence committee said it's ok for the president to solicit foreign interference. the ranking republican house intelligence committee was on lev parnas' speed dial. allan "what? i kept my briefs on" dershowitz just argued in the front of the chief justice of the supreme court that a president can whatever he wants as long as he says it's in the "public interest". it goes on and on.
trump getting away with this, not even just getting away with it, but getting away with it with no resistance and total complicity, is opening the floodgates as wide as it can go. whatever little there was holding him back is now gone. he knows his people will protect him, his party is all-in.
realistically, to trump, there's zero consequences now, other than liberals, democrats, deep state, the media, etc. being mad. and his mind, that's a good thing. fukk'em. i mean shyt, even before this impeachment process, every tweet he made was basically a 280 character middle finger to anyone who isn't a trump supporter anyways.

I’m pretty sure the majority of Americans don’t even know what he was being impeached for.
Funny thing is it seems Biden may have taken a bigger blow than Trump. Biden’s primary numbers are steady declining. How much of that is do to the Hunter thing, I’m not sure. I just know Trump came out of impeachment the same and Biden went from being the clear polling frontrunner in the primary to tied with Young Bern.

The will of the people was to see witnesses and documents in a damn trial like we were suppose to, but what we got was an undemocratic circus act fixed to absolve the President of serious crimes.
Democracy died tonight.
Trump will be making calls to Putin, Mohammad bin Salman, Xi Xin Ping and any of the corrupt despots he admires to dig up dirt on Democrats as soon as tomorrow. He will be spending all year trying to engineer the election (even the primary elections) any way he can. And all we can do is sit back and accept that this is approved conduct of the President now.
I wouldn't be shocked if he orders a withhold of aid to Ukraine all over again, taking this impeachment trial as an exoneration of his actions and confirmation that he is King and allowed to whatever he wants with tax payer dollars. He'll have Rudy back on his Biden hunt (no pun intended) in no time. And this time they can do it with emboldened confidence.
I now live in a country where the President is allowed to commit blatant violations of the Constitution and their goons around to spread lies, smears and misinformation to engineer election results.
I live in a country where I cant even trust our elections to be fair and free of foreign influence.
