Eh, I'm just not convinced Bolton's testimony is going to make much of a difference. It's already clear Trump did what he's being accused of. Hard to see how Bolton cosigning it would move the needle.

Rethugs still going to claim it doesn't "rise to the level of impeachment" or whatever and exonerate him.

Regardless of what happens, the fact Mitch doesn't have the votes to block witnesses is huge. Shows fracture in the GOP, and while Trump will eventually get acquitted the hope is some Independents and undecideds see the fracture and the cover up and choose to vote him out in November.

We'll see what happens but I gotta say...Pelosi looks like she played the best hand possible. Trump won't get indicted, we all know that. But if witnesses are called it will mean she waited until the perfect time not only to impeach the president, but to give the articles of impeachment to McConnell. If she had given them immediately, this process might have been over by now. I don't know if she knew other shoes (Bolton, Parnas) were about to drop or not. But it worked as best it could.

I'm never gonna feel confident relying on republicans to show balls but like...what's the downside to demanding witnesses if you're Romney? Everyone knows Trump isn't getting removed. Witnesses will make it uglier for him but if you're an endangered GOP senator you could say "I voted to allow witnesses, we heard what they had to say, and ultimately I voted not to indict the president." That way you get to semi show you kept and open mind and put an end to this thing.
