What doesn't make sense about this executive order is that most states already have the proper procedures for cops getting killed by a perpetrator, such as life imprisonment and sometimes the death penalty; states rarely let cop killers go free; it's either life in prison or death sentence when these scenarios arise. For decades, in the US, the consequences of killing a police officer have always been life without the possibility of parole or the death sentence, an executive order isn't needed.
