This "question everything" mindset is doing vastly more harm than good, not because it's not a good rule of thumb, but because it's resulted in the wholesale rejection of experts and professionals. Of peer review and established standards.
And it's getting people killed.

“You cannot trust medical advice from medical professionals.”

No way. What makes you so sure?

@Aecitias
They don’t really end up questioning everything. They seem to take up anything alt media says without question.

@SirBadOpinions
They don’t question though do they? They just take everything said by people they hate and go in the exact opposite direction.

@DraginHikari
The problem is they will start asking questions, ignore any information or sources that may answer the question, then continue on with whatever assumption they were going to go with anyway. That isn't skepticism really, it's just narrative following of a different kind.

@Stygian32
It's just kind of interesting how thin a line there is between "question everything" and "believe anything"

@RADArtDude
The problem with the mindset is that people only question things when they go against their preconceived biases and will otherwise happily lap up misinformation.

@kirbmarc
Also it's resulted in people blindly trusting the "anti-establisment". It's the Online Skeptic syndrome - uncharitable interpreting anything from the "mainsteam" while extending undue charity to all the "critics of the mainstream".

This seems fake af to me as well. I'd add that the sentiment is not entirely incorrect. Doctors are reactionary. They resolve issues you already have. The sentiment should be "don't ONLY trust medical professionals. Research how to be healthy as well." Personal experience talking
