In terms of national spending it is nominal compared to defense, healthcare, etc.

Most of it is block grants and then doled out by states.
:dwillhuh: But that's not what the question was about. They asked for SPECIFIC policy that would address high childcare costs to Americans. Some kind of HHS programs for example. Instead we get rambling incoherence about tariffs and downplaying the issue.

And many people came to me and said, sir, your gif is bigly better then the Juelz guy, believe me. Many say, in fact it may be the greatest gif ever in the history of the internet. Even more so than the GREAT ANTONIO BANDERAS, which is mainly popular because of the migrants! MAGA!

Interviewer: If you win in November, can you commit to prioritizing legislation to make child care affordable? And if so, what specific piece of legislation will you advance?

Donald Trump: Well, I would do that, and we're sitting down. You know, I was somebody who had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so impactful on that issue. It's a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I'm talking about, because child care is child care. You know, there's something you have to have it. In this country, you have to have it.

But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I'm talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they're not used to, but they'll get used to it very quickly. And it's not going to stop them from doing business with us, but they'll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country.

Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we're talking about, including child care, that it's going to take care. We're going to have no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country.

Because I have to stay with child care. I want to stay with child care. But those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I'm talking about, including growth, but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just told you about.

We're going to be taking in trillions of dollars. And as much as child care is talked about as being expensive, it's relatively speaking not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers we'll be taking in.

We're going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people. And then we'll worry about the rest of the world. Let's help other people. But we're going to take care of our country first. This is about America first. It's about making America great again.

We have to do it because right now we're a failing nation. So we'll take care of it. Thank you.

asked with llama-3.1-sonar-large-128k-chat:

The response provided by Donald Trump is not particularly logical or coherent in addressing the specific question about prioritizing legislation for affordable child care. Here are several issues with his response:

1. Lack of Direct Answer: Trump does not directly commit to prioritizing legislation for affordable child care. Instead, he diverts the conversation to other topics such as taxing foreign nations and economic growth.

2. Unrelated Topics: The response includes a lot of tangential information about taxing foreign nations, reducing waste and fraud, and overall economic growth. While these might be relevant to broader economic policies, they do not address the specific question about child care legislation.

3. Comparative Numbers: Trump compares the costs of child care to other economic numbers without providing any concrete details on how he plans to make child care affordable. This comparison does not offer a clear plan or commitment.

4. Vagueness: The response lacks specificity regarding any particular piece of legislation or policy initiative that would be advanced to make child care more affordable.

5. Rhetorical Shift: The conversation shifts from a specific policy issue (child care) to a broader ideological stance ("America First" and "making America great again"), which does not provide a clear answer to the original question.

In summary, while Trump acknowledges that child care is an important issue, his response fails to provide a logical and coherent plan or commitment to addressing it through legislation.

the more i witness trump the more i find him impressive..... he rambled and spewed a word salad for about two minutes, said absolutely nothing intelligible, yet still ended up getting an applause for it all anyway by some supposedly intelligent people... it's amazing to be honest.....
End it with “make America great again” which is a euphemism for make America white again. That usually drives them crazy no matter how absurd the thing Trump said is.

This is the man thecoli thinks can compete with Kamala in a debate. :mjlol:
trump's shamelessness keeps him competitive in debates. he lies like he breathes, like a complete sociopath. it's hard for anyone to debate that

and with kamala scared to do any unscripted, adversarial interviews or appearances :yeshrug: i hope she beats the fukk out of him in the debate, but i'm not seeing any evidence that would make me expect it

they just caught kamala's team begging for the debate to keep the mics on, because kamala was hoping she could get interrupted and look like a victim :dead:
