$1500? Yeah....you can definitely make some moves with that type of money over 3 - 4 years. But that's a rarity. Even if you're saving an extra 400 - 500 a month, for most people much of that money is still going towards necessities. Especially if you have rent/mortgage, kids, a car etc.
The bottomline is most people need a bailout and a pay raise. Adding an additional 400 - 500 payment a month is going to wreak havoc on people's personal finances. Most people are just barely getting by.
