If your Mom has a British accent & your Father has a British accent...BOTH which have been verified true in this thread...why would your household not have the British accent in it everyday when you lived the first 12 1/2 years over in the UK?

You must not know or have people in ya fam that aren’t front he states. Everyone in my family is West Indian, but I don’t have an accent cause I grew up here. Moms talk w heavy accent and pops did too on the daily but I don’t have one. A lot on my cousins don’t either. The ones that do, they the ones that lived back home until they were in they late teens/20’s. And even they talk with a NY accent cause after a while you’ll sound like your friends.

Like I can talk w an accent, my cousins too, but that ain’t our normal accent, we got ny accents.
