Above the fray.
My two favorite groups as a kid, Tribe and De La, both had members die too soon.

I still remember seeing Me, Myself, and I for the first time on Video Music Box as a kid and instantly being a fan. That Native Tongues movement was so strong. Hip Hop needs a collective like that today to balance all of the negativity.

RIP Trugoy

Didn't know what an EPK was at the time, but this was likely the first Hip Hop Electronic Press Kit.

Tommy Boy was on some bullshyt, but they were ahead of the curve in terms of marketing and promotion.

Mind blowing album right here. As soon as I heard the intro skits and Oodles of Oh's as the lead track I knew this was going to be a legendary album. And I didn't think they could top their first album, man was I wrong. 'Millie Pulled a Pistol on Santa' was also a song and subject matter that hadn't been touched upon before in rap. Their writing, concepts, and experimental flows on this album were next level and ahead of their time
