True or Untrue: Anyone who has kids before being financially successful is selfish

Nothing breaks my heart more than seeing a little child with they're broke ass parent having to sit in the heat waiting for a bus. Yes, love is important and is more important than anything else, but how the hell do you justify being broke and still deciding to have kids?

I'm not saying you should be a millionaire or anything, but you should be MORE than able to support yourself before you add kids in the picture. If you can't afford a car, then you can't afford a kid

My parents both grew up in Nigerian villages and scratched and clawed their way in to schools so they could travel to the US and go to college here. Me and my siblings all went to private schools and great universities, that's the way it should be. Each generation's purpose should be that the following generation has it easier than they did, why even have kids if they're not gonna have it better than you?

I understand and I fully believe in the philosophy that you are in favor of and that is not having children until I can bring them into a good situation financially.



But I can't say that this is true because it's too absolute. Not everyone that brings children in the world while not financially secure is a selfish individual. From afar the act itself may seem selfish but not the people.

If you're busting your ass just so your kids can barely live above the poverty line, then you shouldn't have had them in the first place

It's not enough to have a loving home. There are some things a kid should never have to worry about, and that includes finances. I had friends in middle school who had to get jobs illegally just to help around the house

Note: Obviously I'm not talking about people who were well-off beforehand and fell on tough times. I know some idiots are going to try to point out obviously unique instances

my grandmother came to this country from jamaica with 7 kids.

grandmother worked 3 jobs and my grandfather worked 2 jobs

worked they ass off and bought and bought a 3 family house which my moms was raised in and which i was raised in

my mom sacrifieced alot for me and my brothers. had her her first kid at 21 and we all 2 years apart

we was broke as shyt. she made us her priority and worked a full time job while going to school FULL time

fast forward 2013 she got her doctorate degree and vice president at her job

So what about parents who were finacially stable and fell on hard times? Are they, too bad parents ecause they sold their car to have more money for bills and food and now use the bus because its cheaper?
