No, Frieza's based on dirty real estate brokers who were caking in Japan at the time (late 80s). They'd lure people with high-interests mortgages, cake off foreclosures and resell houses at overinflated prices.Always thought the namekians were "black" but freezia is definitely a fakkit roman/european colonizer
Wasn't really enslavement, though. They were basically goons, doing exactly what they were already doing for centuries, but under Frieza's thumb instead. Saiyans got what was coming to them for working with the biggest shark in the ocean.I know this thread wasnt that serious, but ive been trying to tell people for years that Saiyan story is a mirror image of black people, right down to the enslavement, destruction of the homeland, and the bootlicking of their leadership class like Vegeta did.
I doubt Toriyama had it in mind, but it fits the narrative perfectly
Y’all need to go on YouTube and watch the FFXIV Stormblood cutscenes
Vivid illusions to real life about stopping a white Roman based empire when all subjugated people team up with the help of a messianic figure (with religious esoterism and evil beings blending into governments)..
the allusions to real life in that game is crazy, deals with c00ns, selling out, capitalism, broken people scared to fight back etc
the [rome/usa] government even steals culture from a nation that is a collective of the dark skin people of all races (they make a blonde blue eyed white girl the leading rebel of it though, probably to sell the game) but the shyt IS DEEP.
the “cacs” in that game cant use magic either
I swear Togashi capitalized big time when Shonen Jump was in their dark ages point in the late 90s after the Golden trio(Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball, Slam Dunk) ended serialization one after the other & they were in dire need of hit series. I heard Jump almost was about to go bankrupt during that era and the deal Togashi made back then is the reason why HxH can take very long hiatuses without the fear of jump dropping the series.

They had no problem doing the job, they just weren't down with being beholden to somebody else. Vegeta hated working for Frieza because he wanted the crown for himself. A whole race of Starscreams basically.
