I think it's best for both parties that they're going this route. Pizzolatto worked on S1 for a long time, and we saw how good that was. He only had a year to work on season two and the drop in quality was evident all throughout. I'm looking forward to his next project, maybe we'll get a Galveston miniseries or something.
I liked the Lynchian, neo-noir vibe it had going on, but something felt missing to the story. Another thing that bothered me was that I felt like the show was trying to be too serious, and it was to the point where it wasn't even believable. The end of episode two got me excited for nothing, really thought there was gonna be an occult twist with the Caspere investigation.
Yea I really expected some occult shyt.
I sensed the Lynchian vibe.. but it wasn't strong enough. shyt I've thought about how season 2 could have been improved.
Save the corrupt land deal and mob boss shyt for season 3 in seattle or whateva
It's taking place in cali but not involved with hollywood or porn?
Wouldn't even have to be in Cali, set it in Las Vegas.
no more than 3 characters...but really you want 2 max
If you go with 3 have one of them be a "traitor" maybe/maybe not
Expand the whole bird masked guy thing to a crew of 3
Have it be a porn camgirl or porn actress death that starts the whole thing off.
ultimately leads to some high society hollywood black mass orgy sacrifice shyt.
Have it filmed in some neon Refn type deal except really dreamy. Neon for the night scenes and Dreamy for the day scenes.
I mean shyt.. I'm imagining this in my head...
