Dawg, don’t you remember when Rachel McAdams goes undercover as a prostitute to Tony Chessani’s party for politicians and they give her molly and it’s one big orgy at that cabin? It’s towards the end of the season, check it out it’s GOAT :banderas:

I'm late as hell but just binged season 1 and 2 over break. Season 1 was amazing, up there as one of my favorite seasons. Rust and Marty had some of the GOAT cop chemistry, and I hate cops. Season 2 was trying too hard and pretty scattered but the last few episodes weren't that bad. I hear season 3 is closer to the quality of season 1 so I'll check that out.

Season 1 is One of the greatest seasons of television I’ve ever watched. Season 2 grew on me. I learned to start after the shootout then watch the rest and backtrack to the earlier episodes to get what I missed. I love season 3 also. Looking forward to what season 4 might bring.

meh

didn't live up to season 1 but y'all hyped season 1 so bad during that season that the ending was underwhelming

I bought into that shyt w/ them cacs on reddit and NT coming up w/ stupid ass theories that ended up not being true :mjlol:

the mystery from the beginning to mid part of the season is where the hype came from
I agree but I'd say most of the hype came from Mcconaughey

White people LOVE nihilism

I thought it was "and like a lot of dreams there's a monster at the end of it"?
Yup!

I'll say this. Dissolve transition shots have existed in film and television since forever, but they just hit differently in this show for some reason. It's definitely not just the gawdly written script that keeps me coming back to this season...the cinematography immerses you into Rust and Marty's world like crazy. The southern gothic aesthetics that complemented Lousiana, the aerial sky shots, and the Cuaron style single tracking shot. On top of all that, there's this Lovecraftian sense of dread that makes you feel like whatever hidden evil force is out there can't be stopped (and it wasn't). :ahh:

First season had an identity of its own, second one felt like a film student just finished watching Michael Mann and David Lynch films, and the third one could've been really special had Saulnier didn't get tossed in the bushes.

GOAT season of any show.
