breh, you've got to realise...

i was watching this episode with the straight the whole time. I might just be gassed and in the moment...but true detective is 4/4 in pure piffery so far.



im also a true wire stan so i didnt say that totem pole thing lightly

IMO the next episode is actually better than #4. 6 is cool, 7-8 were both dope.

That was the peak of the series, it doesn't get better (though 3 was about as good imo). That's maybe a top 5 episode of TV, I can't remember the last time I had the feeling I had watching the last 20-25 minutes. The last half is still very good, there just wasn't anything like the last 20-25 minutes of him infiltrating those bikers, getting high, and then that action sequence.

yeah you get it breh...that whole sequence was just ridiculous. its been a long while since ive watched something and actively thought "_______ actor is killing this scene"

Yea the way he was acting when he had to give some complex lie to the biker about why he was there and had just snorted the coke, and was playing off the hesitation he had in remembering the lie as just getting used to the high was .

Episode 4 was the masterpiece of the first season of true detective IMO.

Yeah that episode was one of the best directed and executed episodes I've seen from any TV show. Seems like it was filmed all in one shot and it was tense as hell
