Unfortunately the public doesn't see this that way.../we know that this is not what hip-hop is. Try telling that to everyone else...this is what I'm saying...it seems on purpose your not trying to understand my point cause it bothers you.
Right now in NYC, hip-hop events attract the most black people. The west indian day attracts the most black people. Reggae, dancehall events attract the most black people. There was a shooting last year in Crown Heights near the end of the west indian day parade. The city has been wanting to crack down on events like this for a while, now they have license to.
You also have to consider the growing number of white people moving here from suburbia USA endlessly driving through in their uhaul trucks that have legit never interacted with poor black & spanish people living in the hoods they are gentrifying, the city, DeBlasio, cops want to protect them cause they mean $$$$$$$$$$$ to the city in inflated rents, disposable income from mommt and daddy etc. They can't deal with this so the city in cleaning these areas up so to speak from eminent domain, illegal police searches, legal loopholes, housing discrimination, etc.
At this point the only rappers that will get play in NYC clubs show wise will be either white rappers like G-Eazy or people like Tyler the Creator or Childish Gambino. Or anyone that can be put in an overpriced hipster festival lineup that mostly attracts white people.
This is what
@9th Street was talking about and why I repped him.
'Even without hip-hop this amounts to the public's fear of large groups of black people and that's what I am saying breh...
