1 person has passed away, according to the NY Times.

Four people were shot, one fatally, during a concert at Irving Plaza in Manhattan on Wednesday night, sending panicked concertgoers streaming for the exits, the police said.

The victims included three men, one of whom died, and one woman, a spokesman for the New York Police Department said.

Paul Cantor, 34, of Manhattan, was in the back of the club, which he said was filled with about 1,000 people. He said his attention was drawn to a backstage fight that spilled onto the stage.

He described seeing a man falling backward like a boxer who had been hit by a hard punch. “There was a body that came across the stage, sort of with flailing arms,” he said.

He said a second fight — perhaps related to the first — then broke out on the club’s floor. About five seconds later, he said, he heard the shots.

Hate to say this but it's problematic to have an artist named "Uncle Murda" booked for a show & then be surprised when that element shows up......


I feel bad for the victims and anyone in the audience who attended the show and just wanted to have a good time. At the end of the day it's senseless. I know what it feels like to be at a venue where there's a shooting, stabbing or fight but as corny as it sounds you almost have to ask what kind of energy is this music perpetuating.
