I'm guessing they are from the south or states with lax gun laws. They always do this when a shooting happens in NY. This is not Florida. We don't have Stand Your Ground laws. This isn't some rural area where you can shoot in your backyard. People are talking about self defense when Troy entered a room and shot. It's not defense if you are going after someone. You shoot or possess a firearm in NY it's over and there is no wiggle room especially in a high profile case in a high traffic/money area.

its why so many people get stab or beat up like its the 80s again you do three to seven for a gun in this city

Here's the only law you need to know about guns in NY; DON'T HAVE ONE. Possession alone can get you 3 years. It's no point in knowing the specific laws because the city is so strict you will never legally get one.

The location itself makes the case high profile but doesn't add to the charges. It will make it more likely that they will try to make an example of him during sentencing. He won't get any leniency.

Even if this true that makes Troy the aggressor and Tax isn't guilty of a crime.

Exactly. He's ON tape pursuing someone through a door with a gun, who seems to not be an active threat. He even stops and looks at the camera right before he lets off a shot. And to be honest he doesn't look entirely too disoriented and shook, or in fear for his life, in fact he seems pretty calm. And that's going to work against him.

The thing that is fukked up most about this even though I don't like Troy Ave is that there's dozens of cops pursuing and killing unarmed black men on tape who get off. Meanwhile Troy Ave is going to get slammed with double digits.

Overall it's an unfortunate and sad situation. A man dead, another man who will be a prisoner to the prison industrial complex. A situation that didn't have to escalate to gun violence no matter how it started off and the people who invest in private prisons sitting back who will reap rewards by the system locking up another black male.
