Every move the leadership of this company has made since we decided to stop watching has moved us further from watching again.

I felt an itch last year for Wrestlemania weekend, I can't lie, but this year it feels more like I'm avoiding a fukking pathogen.

WWE has always been a political animal - they sway in the direction of the prevailing wind, so when society at large was pushing fairness and equality they pushed minorities, had a women's revolution and held anti-bullying campaigns. Now they perceive the wind to be smelling of MAGA they're trading platforms with openly racist, MAGA-adjacent comedians and making it REALLY clear that there's nothing in the company that could even remotely be accused of being "DEI" or "Woke".

If it works for them, they'll be the entertainment arm of the Department for Propaganda - hell, they weren't far off it with Sgt Slaughter selling the Iraq war to kids in the 90s.

The only thing they'll understand is the bottom line. I'll take the Stan accusations, but eventually people just have to stop watching. Stop buying tickets. That's the only thing that will make them change course and it will make them change course... so i just saw the full portion of the interview where they talked about this and the little indian dude on the podcast in a discussion of “heat” in wrestling out of nowhere asked hunter if he could see how trump used wrestling tactics to generate heat in the lead up to his first presidential run and so forth. how else was he supposed to answer? he just said trump is charismatic and likes getting under people’s skin and could see how he used heat to his advantage and then they asked if it was easier to be a face or a heel in wrestling and he said it’s way easier to be a heel.
