Plus, people weren't squatting on the title for a whole year, either.

2024 - 9 WWE Title matches
2007 - 18 WWE Title matches
1999 - 47 WWF Title matches

Laveck's issue is that he's booking the titles like the UFC.

The WWF/E Championship

HHH (2007)

On Raw and Smackdown 7x

:dead:

For two straight weeks

And let's not even bring up the fact.

The Rock (1999)

Three straight title defenses in 3 straight days

shyt, let's go to 2017

John Cena (2017)

I apologize, sincerely for rather seeing Gunther wrestle and defend his title and IDGAF about a white IC title belt fight between Dakota/Lyra.

I didn't, because you were trying to be cute.

If you don't care, then, don't quote me.

I sat and listened to this very sub bytch about Roman defending the title like 30 times in 3 years, now, it's okay, because we're "IN THE ERA (Laveck)."

4 defenses are crazy in 163 days, when two of them were against Damian Priest (after winning the title from Damian) and the actual story of the match is month 73 of the Judgement Day saga.

Then, it's Sami Zayn (again) and Randy Orton (that match was bad).

Then, you have him eat a Cody Rhodes pin, when the new title needs more prestige (that's another convo).

This "Gunther is losing his confidence" shyt is cringe...against Damian Priest (1 time World Champ) and Sami (who's been a joke 90% of his career).

I wasn't tryna be cute. I asked a simple question but I guess this place doesn't like confrontation lol. You making something out of literally nothing

Being the World Champion used to be you getting the most TV time (promo or match) and the best placement on the card. If your goal is to prove you're the best, you want to be out there reminding people. Breaks immersion when you saw more of a guy while he was contending than when he succeeds.

Seth Rollins did it perfectly.

Brand new title, he took on all comers.

Any sport, you win the title, the next year ppl are coming at your neck every time they can.

We don't see Gunther, in person, weeks at a time. And when he comes back it's been with weak stories and okay (to bad) matches.

My apologizes if I want to see the brand champion main event "his" or even "her" own show.

Rhea (cuz, I always have to bring her up) rarely wrestled on RAW all 2024....but, was the #1 Contender or Champion all 365 days :dead:

Bianca had more singles matches on RAW than her. Not tag team (because it's cross brand), I'm talking SINGLES MATCHES.

I wasn't tryna be cute. I asked a simple question and yet you still don't wanna answer lol. You making something out of literally nothing

Let it go. You're not saying anything interesting. If you want the last word, just say that.

You're not saying anything. I've posted more than enough in the last page about this subject.

Just like when people point to Bianca's W-L record as some sign that H isn't trying to diminish her star power. We all know it's almost impossible to get and stay over in the WWE without story/character/mic time. What's new about her character lately? Why does Bianca get less speaking time than Candice Leray? Would Triple H ever have a segment where Becky or Charlotte stand in the ring for with 3 other women while the mic makes the round and have them never say a word? Would they have been expected to be out of the main event scene this long to help another division or wrestler?

The strategy is clear: keep someone on tv winning meaningless matches and rarely doing much besides that. Eventually they cool off with the crowd and then the usual suspects will say, "x isn't as over as y even tho they were winning all year with lots of tv time".
:martin:
He would definitely do that to Becky, because he has some issue with her that makes no sense. If you look at Bianca & Rhea when it comes to their singles matches, you'll see why Hunter keeps Bianca limited. Bianca rolls out of bed giving 5 star classics with whoever they put her against, meanwhile we're about to have the same conversation about Rhea that we're having about Jey.
This is what the "Let it play out" crowd thrives on.

The "what if" and then when there's a mid ass plot point (Finn finally turning on Damian, Damage Ctrl finally turning on Bayley, Dom finally turning on Rhea, Tiffany finally cashing in on Nia, etc.) they pretend it's the greatest moment of the year ... despite it taking entirely too much time to develop and every one seeing it come a mile away.

The real issue is; plots that should've ended like three months ago didn't give them enough time to develop brand new ones.
New Day are the latest victims of letting it play out. They had one of the best segments of 2024 and it's been completely wasted.

HHH is probably the greatest heel of all time so you would think he would recognize how important it is to have clear cut distinct heel vs faces dynamics but that's been one of his biggest issues. From Priest, Roman, and Rhea to now Gunther, Bron, Stratton, Seth, and apparently Rock too. MFs straddle lines way too much.

If we had more clear cut heels I wonder if that would take away from Dom, as he's like the only clear cut unredeemable chickenshyt heel without the "he's technically right" bullshyt.

And relatable heels is more high concept than just a bad guy getting cheap heat and being a menace for no reason.

Still, I can understand Hunter's POV. We need to remember that the WWE is not competing with AEW, WWE is competing with every other form of entertainment, so narrative wise the company needs to change the format to get as many paying eyes on the product as possible. At this point whoever will choose to watch AEW or TNA or a MLW segment on Youtube aren't going to become WWE watching guys again. So it's arguably better to change the format to see if a broader audience of people can be attained.

Devil's advocate, Raw could offer something different on Netflix compared to the other dramas, like if you want a compelling drama or comedy focused narrative, you would watch a movie or TV show. WWE in theory should be an alternative to the other forms of entertainment rather than attempt to straddle the line.

Take away from Dom? Dom has been one of HHH’s biggest fumbles since taking over.

Along with:
- Tag team booking
- Black talent booking
- Young male talent booking

And it doesn’t have anything to with AEW but a completely lopsided Heel vs Face dynamic.

Top heels:
- Gunther
- Drew
- KO
- Solo :ld:
- Logan Paul :ld:

Top Faces:
- Cody
- Roman
- Cena
- Seth
- Punk
- Priest
- Jey
- LA Knight
Etc.

Rock back babyface too but based on his IG post is going away for a while anyway.

You were only referring to clear cut heels and Dom is the only clear cut heel and thus the torchbearer.

But now that you mention it Logan Paul is the only other clear cut heel but he's a part timer.
Gunther is one of those layered character guys Hunter likes.

Solo is also a layered heel because from a certain POV he is right, Roman did abandon the family, Solo was the tribal heir and
Solo is arguably a better tribal chief.

So again, I am slightly curious if Dom would lose a part of his heat if there was some heel being a menace just because he can rather than having some justified reason like a Drew or a KO.
