Cody must have signed a Reigns contract because dude has been damn near invincible since his return. Creative keeps him tied into the biggest angles for what, the past 3 Manias? I don't think he'll match Rome's WM Main Events before it's over but I wouldn't be surprised.
He’s their biggest full-time superstar. He’s suppose to close the show.

Yeah good job on creative for actually delivering.
They've definitely been on their job with that and everyone knows that I don't particularly like Cody at all. Fact of the matter is 95% would have been turned on doing some of the shiit they've done since his return if it wasn't handled correctly.

It's appropriate he's facing Cena, the only other guy besides Terry I can think of that could get away with beating a Main Event talent in Hell in a Cell with one fukking arm and people just shrug it away.

And you have to give Cody his props. He molded himself into the it factor. When you’re wwe champion you get put under the microscope and scrutinized like no other.

Tsc posters tried turning on him as soon as he won the title claiming AJ should win the title… and even as a styles fan I thought that was goofy

Depending how the match goes with Cena I want to give Cody’s reign a 8/10. Maybe 7.5.

And that’s really respectable considering WWE has had an issue with having interesting title defenses late 2000s and mid 2010s

There was a down point in the reign when he kept facing solo lol

Oh I give him credit for carrying the ball after they gave it to him, he's done everything he needed to in order to maintain his spot. Dusty taught him well.

Still don't like him or a section of his fanbase

He's their biggest star because of creative. You can come into a company on fire but if they don't book you properly, you'll burn out.
Promoting is key as well. I think Cody showed everyone he had a special ability to promote himself once he left WWE the first time. Once he returned he got a much, much better promoting machine behind him than AEW and also a place that would reign Cody in when needed so he wouldn't do whatever the fukk he wanted and risk big swings and misses (a typical TK flaw).

I legit think the promoting from Nick Khan and WWE as a whole the last 3 years has been one of best in wrestling history but it kinda gets forgotten because people tend to argue about creative and not recognize that other side of the biz.

WWE loves guys who can go on talk shows, media appearances etc. go do the Make-A-Wish events, grant wishes, all of that.. Cody has that in spades and he's a good wrestler and he's got some charisma AND he has a family legacy.

After he proved he can get over on his own with AEW, that was all they needed to see.
