So, I'm watching the retrospect of the Rock v. Cena Wrestlemania feud.

And I get they were huge names.

But, the story really was; hey Rock, why don't you come back more often to ruin your body (and possibly give yourself life long damage that the WWE will take zero responsibility for) to make money for Vince McMahon as opposed to make 100x more money in Hollywood for a longer amount of time?

This was 2011/2012.

John Cena had like 6 movies nobody gives a fukk about.

I get it; Dwyane is a Hollywood big wig. But, even now ppl try to play him like his family even now aren't doing a lot for this damn company.

Cena was like Seth Rollins in that he was a company man and he thought that people like The Rock shouldn't call WWE their home. "This is not your home, this is my home! :damn:" In his mind, if he's out here grinding every day and representing the company as much as he can, don't come back when you need a check balanced.

Rock thought Cena was corny, didn't like what he stood for, and was part of the reason WWE declined in popularity. He also wanted to prove he was the better man and claim that he beat all three franchise players at WrestleMania (Hogan, Austin, Cena). It was his destiny to be the greatest of the great.

That first match had real heat behind it. You could tell they legitimately disliked each other and it made things feel more authentic. Where they fukked up was doing a rematch. Nobody wanted to see that, and it was set up in an inorganic way (Rock gets a title shot at the Royal Rumble six months in advance, wins the title, and ends Punk's reign just so he can drop the title to Cena).

I just watched the 2 hours the WWE posted.

But, even if John didn't do unsuccessful movies, I'm surprised that The Rock didn't invoke his dad's work and all the bullshyt he went through to make it in the WWE.

shyt, The Attitude Era--where him and Stone Cold & Taker were the Big 3--is the reason that WWE ain't TNA status. He put in all the work.

shyt, Cody entire comeback was "Dusty, Dusty, Dusty" and he was a fukking jobber before AEW was a thing.

Maybe it's just 100% hindsight and learning more about the business behind the scenes, but, Cena (who signed over the rights to his name) definitely looks like a cornball.

The Rock went super easy on John and his sensitive still had to shoot (on the handwritten promo) like a jealous bytch.

Punk's reign ended because he wasn't bringing in the ratings. The fact that he kept it as long as he did was a gift to him. :yeshrug:

That's why I laughed at Punk's "epic pipe bomb" promo last week, because he said Rock didn't care about the business like Rock didn't have to put up with Kliq bullshyt back in the day. Cena calling Rock out for not returning because of movies was hilarious because it was after 2 of his own failed movies and a Fred Nickelodeon tv movie.:russ:

Punk could have lost the title a lot sooner than he did. The only reason he didn't is because he agreed to turn heel as a favor to Vince. Rock wanted to work a heel at the Rumble and if Punk said no, he was going to drop the title to Bryan.
