they're in my top 5 but outkast, ugk, ball & g, and the geto boys all rank higher than them imo.

I'd put them right after UGK and Outkast. I think the Hot Boys are a little overrated because of their solo success later on.

How does that make them overrated? If anything I think Hot Boy$ are underrated. You always see Kast gettin named and they a great group but i'm not gonna sit here and say they get an automatic bid or sumn.

yeah, i would rather bump vol. 1 (especially this it's more of a gangster rap album and not so much on that satanic shyt) or mystic stylez or any of their early to mid 90s shyt than any other southern artist of that time. BUT, i understand putting ugk, outkast, and geto boys over them...8 ball and mjg I wouldn't.

I mean from my personal experience living in Texas. People went apeshyt over their first album when it dropped. I just thought it was ok then. Then "The Block is Hot" and "400 Degrees" and "Chopper city..." and even after Carter 1 came out the reunion talk started like " :krs: aww man they should get back together." And if they had then, it would have been a real supergroup. But they were far from that in the beginning. The Hot Boys albums were bangers but all their solos were better imo because they had time to develop their skillsets. Especially Wayne.

I hope that made sense it was a little rambling :smugfavre:
