Deadbeats coming around when you're an adult and all the heavy lifting of raising you is done is a common thing. Probably even worse when you are successful
It kind of irks me when adult children , especially women, fall for it and try rebuilding the relationship just happy to finally get the attention they wanted all along.
Agreed.
Seen that with some famous folks and it just looks weird. Hell even going back to Hoop Dreams, I remember when William was getting attention from colleges and his dad had been gone since he was a baby. All of a sudden, pops wants to invite him to his car shop to possibly get him a ride since he was like 16 or 17 and got his license.
William tried to pin him down on hanging out and Pops started juelzing ON CAMERA.
Then you got brehs getting locked up for bullshyt but magically appear when Junior is about to be a 1st-rd draft pick....and THEN want to give all this advice.
Lotta dudes want to spread their seed and "be there" but they only show up after all the hard work is done. Ain't changed one diaper. Ain't put one bandage on Lil Man when he scrapped his knee playing football. A lot of these dudes want to be fathers in the abstract sense but they don't want to do the tough, boring shyt.
