How is it?

First episode was kinda whack to me, if you want to promote black owned businesses just do it, I’m not a fan of the theatrics

Second episode started out kinda wonky and awkward too, the principal was giving him the :rudy: the whole time - I’m finishing it later

I’m gonna finish it this weekend though bc I gotta get to the punisher season 2

Just watched the first episode. It was played to an extreme, but it was effective in showing how difficult it is to keep money within the black community. My main problem is that it was frighteningly close at times to romanticizing the pre-integration era.

El-P was funny as fukk trolling Mike at the restaurant, and fukking with the interviewer being his interpreter. :mjlol:

I know how fukked up it was before integration...but at the sametime imagine if the hood still had black banks, doctors, legit business and all the money just circulated in our " communities"...along with the fight for our rights and we didn't just be happy to live next door too our oppressors.....

Oh, I completely understand the intent. I just worry that with the way it was presented, a significant portion of the people who watch will come away with some fukked up viewpoint that we should segregate ourselves, as opposed to saying we should enrich our own community to increase our standing within integrated society.

Watched the second episode last night. Breh coming to the conclusion that there needs to be vocational porn is fukking hilarious.

Unless I mixed the names up, the subtle joke about the guy hitting the :hhh: to the door segment with the two guys actually seeing the biggest score increase on that specific section was hilarious.

I also like that on the surface, the message was that skill/trade learning is at an all time low, but the REAL point he was getting across is that so many of us in the community have been taught that it's lame to aspire to basically have steady work. The old white guy in the class basically said his dream was to have steady sustainable work. All the brehs he asked said some shyt like "music", despite being past the age where they can realistically launch a music career, and likely without any of the necessary skillset. shyt was low-key heartbreaking :francis:
