there's as much bro science on hair in the black community as it is on protein in the weightlifting community

i hate to break it to you guys, but shaving your hairline isn't going to make you bald. no different than edging up the back of your head would make you lose hair there.

remember... correlation does not equal causation

I don't know many white or asian dudes who's hair has fully receded by age 30, but I know hundreds of ninjas who are rockin' baldies. Correlation =/ causation in a single random event, we are talking about empirical results here broski, it ain't one or two nikkaz with receding hairlines due to Slicey the Shapeup Man and Rubinga the Alchohol Lady :birdman:

My father is almost 70 and has his line intact...I'm the only one in the family with thinning hairline and guess what?

I'm the only one in the family who gets biweekly shape up's!

I'm fukked now :sadbron:

My barber used a blade to shape that thing for years. I think that's what fukked me up.

It comes from your mothers father, is he bald?

I haven't been to a barber in 2 and a half years

When I did; a couple of young guys would kill me with the razor

(I'm actually just noticing how scarred my head was )

This is probably me, at 20, when I went to the barber bi-weekly

Dope waves bro. But this photo is exactly why I may be done with shape ups. It seems it's impossible for them to not go into your hairline. Again, let them do the back and sides and call it a day. My boy was saying "No front? are you sure?" I was like Yes man, thanks. Again I don't want to say it's 100% on the barbers but it's time for black men to wake up. Pushing your hairline back over and over and over again is not good period. Let's look at NaS from early 20's to late 30's:

Even NaS's joint is starting to go back.

Happened to me. I bring my own shyt now when I get a tape. :obama:

I'm starting to get mad, now

I had that pic, in mind, when reading about cuts with the razor line

I just noticed how "cut" up I was

But, you're right; I see burns (especially on the right corner)

That was around the time, after I cut my braids, I started to understand shop etiquette more (grown up gettin' cut by my father 'til I started growin' a fro, in 8th grade)

I made sure, after being cut by a razor, a few times, to tell 'em; no razor

Let's not get into that beigen stuff they use to create the Steve Harvey line

Thanks, bro

That was freshmen year (college. 4,5 years ago), when I had the patience to maintain 'em

But, now that I'm cuttin' my own; I'm goin' with the little bush, tapered sides and no shape up on the front (I barely touch the corners, anyway)

Should make a thread about the black man's hairline and its evolution.

:bryan: I did back on :hamster:

The Comprehensive Hairline Discussion Thread - Page 3 - ProjectCOVO.com Global Forum

I pointed out how MLK would get clowned for his hairline in today's age but nobody cared back then. I asked when we started caring as a culture, late 90's was the conclusion.

:mindblown: You gotta be fukkin kiddin me! You dont know many non-black people then. White people are actually more likely to go bald than black folks due to their fine hair. I knew a cat in my high school who was going bald in his senior yr.

And what you guys are obsessing about is called a MATURE HAIRLINE. your line naturally goes back as you get older. it doesn't always mean you're going bald

LOL. you're reaching. Those pics are at different angles and even still the difference is minimal. Plus Nasir the gawd is 40. See above for mature hairline.

I actually wanna get that Kendrick type cut

KendrickLamar07-17-2012-e1345068042505.jpg

Natural at the top (I'm a professional; so I can't go as wild); tapered on the sides

I might do that; line the back, corners and sides (I don't have dumb sharp clippers)

Great advice

:lolbron::lolbron: Damn you nikkas fukking with some shytty barbers, BTW weren't you the same dude preaching about Waves representing Black self-hatred back on the :hamster:? :heh::heh:

im bout to stop immediately brushin my hair out the shower and throwin on the durag for the waves to see if that helps. i read that brushin the wet hair can make it weak and rip it out. but my schedule recently also has been gettin me only like 5 hours of sleep but aint nothin i can do about that. bout to drink more water too.
