That wasn't a bang bang play. There was enough daylight for dude to pull up when TL was sliding.

That was an intent to injure, no doubt about it. It's competition and it's football, but there was line that was crossed yesterday.

Al-shaair claiming the victim is hilarious to me.
He was trying to defend the first down line

Cant give this dude the benefit of the doubt when he’s been shown to cross the line before. It ain’t some crazy throw him out the league shyt though it would definitely be on Burfict’s highlight reel.

He got thrown out of that game so suspend him one more and keep it moving.

I can’t stand this late slide bullshyt. QBs go down at the very last second and the defender is expected to react with robot speed. Josh Allen is notorious for this shyt, fake slides, sliding sideways and all kinds of BS.
Josh Allen is the master of that.

He wants to be big bad running back Beast mode until he says stop, a microsecond before he's about to ge treated like beast mode.

Sometimes the defender is slow to react, other times

YOU DONT KNOW IF
HE INTENTIONALLY DID ANYTHING.

IT WAS A BANG BANG PLAY
AND HE SINCERELY SAID IT WASNT INTENTIONAL.

Plenty of posts of people trying to politicize this and trying to inflate this based on his religion, and you got dudes here claiming he’s playing victim:

I originally gave him more benefit of the doubt until people brought up the points about the forearm. Plus, he’s done dirty shyt in the past.

he loves throwing that forearm in there

Peep how he punches someone smaller than him but when 58 pulled up he just pushed him and tried to get out of there. He's a dirty player and those guys always know who to try and who not to.

The players need to police guys like him and the Bears had an opportunity to do so. They should've handled him after he he punched Roscshon instead of looking for the refs. Rough him up and he'll stop thinking he's a bully.

As for the play it's clearly dirty but Trevor slid about 4 yards late. Had he slid at the 50 he could've avoided that hit. He was trying to get the first but the priority should've been his safety. Gotta know who's in front of you. Most players pull up when they see a QB running at them. There's been plenty of slides I've seen live this season and defenders either fall downward or dive to the side to avoid contacting the head.

Even if dude was already in the tackling motion he had time to at least try not to bash TL in the head with his forearm.

Wouldn’t be deemed a “dirty hit” if dude at least looked like he tried to pull up.

Saying it “was a bang bang play” is just, justification for dangerous/dirty play.

Came here to say this. Sometimes it's tough to let up when you're in the process of stopping a ballcarrier from getting a few more yards/inches. This play looks much worse because it seems that Al-Shaair made no effort to let up as Lawrence is surrendering. I understand the suspension and fines that will likely come from this, but I almost always take the side of the defender when there's a questionably late slide.

Looked at the play a few times. You can’t tell me that Al-Shaair wasn’t looking to knock TL’s block off. Would have been a great hit 10-20 years ago, but the NFL has effectively outlawed head hunting.

Al-Shaair probably played his last down of the season.
3 game suspension

He has a pretty lengthy history of foul play.....including this season.

This won't stop meathead ex-players like Mark Schlereth (or whatever his name is) and fans from siding with him.

Al-Shaair suspended 3 games after Lawrence hit
