:dwillhuh:

And how exactly did you come to this conclusion sir :aicmon:

Listen to their chit, bruh - it ain't that tight.

They had one dude in the group who could rap aight, and the other two were hit or miss (mostly miss).
The best thing they had going for them (at least early) was they knew when to change up the beat when they started
to drag.

Apparently. Lawd knows it wouldn't be the first time or the last :manny:

Man De La are all time greats breh. Yeah they like to rap in riddles but thats half the draw to me. They say some profound shyt thats likely to pass right by you, so of course that led to repeated listens :ahh:

And the beats were always dope

I didn't say a damn thing about them rapping in riddles, there's nothing wrong with that.
They just aren't that ill rappin'.
And the beats did the job, but they weren't "dope". They got about 3 beats you can say are
worth mentioning, and then they at least had sense enough to let Dilla handle that chit as
they fell back.

If you put all the rappers in Native Tongues in one room, Pos is the only one in De La that might crack Top 5 -
and that's not a given, either.

Anybody care to let an old head like myself know why these 2 cats in my age bracket are beefin? And what else happened in hip hop this month that yall are calling it "the greatest month of fukkery in hip hop ever"? :ld:
How old is that onstage Flex rant about 2Pac? Never seen or heard of it. :manny:

I think Treach should let this slide. I know he's trying to turn a corner and be more of a positive influence to the kids, he's been involved with some ani-gang outreach and some other things and this fukkery could marginalize what he's trying to do. That being said, if your not from Newark, or those surrounding areas, you guys don't realize how much pull Treach has. I'm saying the he's gonna ice Flex, but he definitely has the pull to make Flex's life a little miserable.

I don't even have Naughty in my top 3 favorite NJ hip-hop artists, but anybody acting like they didn't have a major influence on hip-hop and don't have a catalogue of classic tracks is either just uninformed or purposely trying to downplay how much dope shyt they put out.

Uptown Anthem, Dirt All By My Lonely, It's On, and Craziest alone sh*t on entire discographies of a lot of cats I see bigged up on here on a regular. As if Treach wouldn't lyrically rip a hole in some of these bum ass rappers out now. And even though I hate that he started to focus way too much on the R&B shyt, Kay Gee is one of the illest slept on producers in hip-hop.

Give respect where it's due.
