@CashmereThoughts Both you and Jubril from PassportHeavy got me wanting to visit Panama badly.
What were some of your best moments there? And what was the food like at the crib, the hotel, and the markets? What was Panama City like?
Also, could you please pass the mustard on the music in the video?
Jubril is a big influence for me as far as content creators go.
Best moments was all the family interaction. We spent the every min of every day visiting various family homes or going somewhere with cousins, uncles ETC.
food at the crib was incredible. My mom is an excellent cook and we had a full kitchen in our hotel so I was eating good. And then going from house to house we got our fix of that the traditional foods Like Ojalda, chicheme. Oh and the fruit. The mangos from the trees in people’s back yards were incredible.
The markets we went too called “Rey” that’s like the “Kroger” out there, they seem to be pretty Americanized. The prices meat and produce were closer to US prices my mom was shocked by that because it never used to be that way. The fruit and vegetables venders on the street and the meat shops in the neighborhoods were cheaper.
Panama City is EXTREMELY multi faceted. You’ve got your historical colonial spots like Casco Viejo (must see! Beautiful architecture and dope restaurants and night life) you’ve got your Ghettos (cinco de Mayo, others I can’t name) this these places are ROUGH!, you’ve got your modern downtown area with glass high rises. The city has boomed from when I was a child. There’s a subway line now. There’s a lot of waterfront spaces.
