Colombians can tell foreigners by our size too
Pause

I spent a decent amount of time in Medellin, and they can just tell by the way you carry yourself and even when you speak Spanish, it's likely not colloquial and/or lacks the regional accent.

I stayed in El Poblado so less risky than venturing into El Centro where I'd be food

The kirk to the fields
They don't know english breh. They speak to me in Spanish too. Granted if you're not in a tourist area and no one is paying attention to you. It may not immediately register that you're ADOS but if they look at how you walk and your mannerisms they can tell.

A good situational awareness experiment. Look at random people in your city and sopt the difference in how they move.
Even in the US, people can tell when you're not from their city.

Matter of fact, sometimes even in different neighborhoods within your own city.

depends where you move, if you move to an affluent area and build your own place on land you bought that was not in contention with anyone you'll be fine.
Yeah he's overselling it. Nobody would say that a Russian billion who buys an apartment on the upper east side is "displacing locals".
Now a lot of repats do try to out African the Africans and move straight to the bush. Yeah that land is either owned by someone outright and or communal land. It's not like america where land is carefully zoned and paperwork established to who owns what. People just occupy the land. You come through and buy that an yes you will piss people off especially when you fence it.

But living in a deluxe apartment in the sky/?? Half the people in my complex are Indian or Chinese.

Cacs get caught slipping all the time :gucci:

Exactly, I swear at one point it seemed like every few weeks some European kid made the news cause they made a wrong turn in Rio and got sprayed with bullets by dudes who thought they were the opposition... if you think white people are untouchable you need to see a therapist and work on your inferiority complex, man. I know it gets you a lot of daps on TLR but thinking like a perpetual victim isn't good for you. They bleed and get killed just everybody else.

another thing that distinguishes foreigners from locals is their scent. your deodorant, soap, detergent, and diet gives off a different body scent that you won't pick up cause you're always smelling yourself but locals definitely would, especially in tropical countries. another thing too is your skin, even if you're dark skin, tropical people skin is more hardened by the sun and it's clear to see. either way, trying to dress like locals won't do shyt.

Move with common sense, carry yourself with some confidence (most crooks are looking for an easy lick, don't look like one) be aware of your surroundings, don't linger around too much in local places, always keep moving, don't let anyone bring to get weed or anything else. when dealing with women def don't go to their place, and unless it's a hotel or a gated security area don't let them stay over night. fukk and let them bounce.

edit: another thing is to put down the damn cameras. unless going on an excursion in the wild no need to be walking around with one to snap a bunch of bullshyt pics in an urban setting. use your phone and be aware of who you mind be filming.

example here. this bro almost got his food ate being reckless with where he was filming at. he was with a guide so i guess he felt comfortable but guide or no guide use your own senses

Yeah, when I was in the Bahamas the first thing a noticed was the local women had almost flawless skin. It was the easiest thing to tell the difference between them and tourist and that after being there a day or two.
