Wouldn't work with the awkwardness in the hoods. Unless he's rich Carlton black he'd have been more comfortable, most blacks are (were) concentrated in south los angeles and know what hoods (Crip, blood, Mexican ) are where. Its essential for survival. Gang culture is deeply ingrained in LA. How you a minority, parked in echo Park, see some cholos on look out and not know it's a d-block? :stopitslime:

Him being white and a rookie first time in South LA (where all the minorities are) is what made his awkwardness believable

This is a stupid post and I hope you feel bad for making it.

Good night. :snooze:
I don’t just like I don’t give a fukk about your opinion

They aren’t going to make a movie like that if it doesn’t appeal to white people and Hawk being the rookie “hero” is what made it appeal to them.

Be mad tho

It wouldn't have worked with a brother in the role. Only possible way it would work with a brother is if he was some country breh from some small ass town in Arkansas, Louisiana, etc who just moved to the west coast and who unaware of gang culture and the lifestyle of LA. Even then it would have been a reach.

Yeah...

And Bad Boys would have been better if they went with the original choice of Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey

Yeah you would have basically needed a Carlton Banks type breh to play the partner.

Last Samurai should've had a Aeh play Tom Cruise's role. That movie would've actually been better without the fish out of water angle added to it.
Training Day however is fine just how it is. Dude being an outsider is important to the plot.
