That's a rare exception. Media is all based on appearance. Nobody watches cbs news, but when I do watch it...she's not the featured weather person.
There are 2 examples the other way though in NYC area. If you watch channel 7 news.....there are/were two beautiful reporters who chubbed up and are rarely seen now.
