Agreed I always hold my breath when I see “kidnapped” but it’s a domestic issue. Obviously parents can harm their own children but it conjures a wildly different scenario when it’s done by a stranger/party that didn’t previously have custody or caretaker access to the child.

Agree with your sentiment, but the legal definition doesn't. Even using 'abduction' conjures up similar differences.
