kaizen and lean are such buzzwords that are way harder to implement in reality that the book "The Toyota Way" makes it seem. hell I'm the lean expert at my factory and half the time I have the :rudy: face when people talk about it.

most of it is common sense. that's where the biggest gains are. but once you get past the low hanging fruit shyt becomes hard. throw in company politics and you have a recipe for people pretending results are happening when they areen't

Toyota has a very efficient plant in Japan. They are all about the Order over there. You have to really have eimployees that respect authority and order to make these lean practices effective.

Japan, but from the 989
Good luck getting many people to sit and think. Everyone is too fukking worried about multitasking at all times to get anything done.

Multitasking has been proven to make you even less productive.

That's when you have to start serious compartalization. And specific JOB roles. If you are doing something that belongs in or is better suited in another division, stop doing it. Multitasking means that you either don't have enough people on staff or things are not clear enough.

That's the trick, from what I have seen, you have really have to do it every day. Even if it is just bullshyt 10 mins on a one little thing. Because normally when you pick out something to Kaizen it should take you a three weeks to really do it right. And since it's a foreign concept, don't even tell the workers what it is. They wouldn't understand in the first place. Just tell them it's improvement. It works so much better when people have no idea what is going on

You just need a higher up with pull thats passionate about lean. The only way to force people into lean and Kaizan practices is putting their career on the line if they dont comply. Count your steps nikkas. :russ:
