Op might be the worst poster in this forum. :snoop:

Live and let live:manny:

I just wanted to have a discussion but the only cat here that was willing to post more then the equivalent of a middle finger was @MartyMcFly and he agreed with many of my points even tho he didn't agree with my conclusion. Which also makes it strange to see him dap you up for your post. I'm not asking for every post to be an in-depth review of every movie but surely you're able to write 1-2 lines about these movies without being disrespectful.

Truth be told lol I forgot this was your thread. I meant to un dap but I was half sleep so that's my bad because you're definitely not the worst poster on here. Not even close.

But yeah I agreed with a lot of your points as far as what one movie did vs the other but I still think the original is the stronger overall movie because it all comes together and feels like one piece tonally and thematically. And it's not boring

Marty is a civil dude, but he may share some sentiments regarding your posting. I did post on the first page calling the film garbage. You bumped a thread still trying to big up an inferior movie. No one agrees with you. I respect your opinion. No hate. But sometimes u have to call a spade a spade.

As far as the films. The original is just fun, violent and fast moving. The remake is bland, boring and useless. Colin Farrel is boring af. Right there u lose by casting him. Ain't even close.

Hire a irrelevant actor to replace Arnold, it still hasn't worked in any of the remakes

:patrice:

How is he irrelevant? He's been in big movies for almost 15 years, was a lead in one of biggest TV shows of last year and had top 10 performance in The Lobster, also last year.

The content and direction of the remake movie has incredible great scifi social commentary.
I love both movies for these reasons.

I can appreciate this and the RoboCop movies for what they are, but I still prefer the verhoeven variants. There's a lot more energy in them. Even if they remade starship troopers that closer aligns to the books, it would still be a harder sell compared to the 90s movie

Total Recall OG is really a B-movie, with stars...but it embraced the camp. Even for a movie that came out in 1990 the effects were cheesy, they went all in with taking it over the top in tone. That's what makes it work. The remake may have improved on the story, had better acting, visually better, more serious tone, and still ends up being forgettable.
