Prefer Lanez approach. Doenst take himself too seriously and the music hitz better.
loving these two singles for this project thus far.

It's a lot more upbeat than the Weeknd's stuff, and I'd even go as far as to say that it sounds more authentic because he has more vocal range.
The Weeknd has 80's sounding songs without necessarily doing it on purpose, Tory is flat out chasing the 80's sound and hitting the nail on the head.
More vocal range because he can rap? Can’t be singing. It’s cool for what it is but it sounds like exactly what it is: someone born in the 90s trying to recreate 80s music in the 2020s.
This would be a better example:
The entire concept of a storyline of videos getting beat up etc is the blatant rip off from The Weeknd. The musical approach is whatever but the rollout is thievery.
