A man on the 15 Most Wanted Fugitive List in the United States has been arrested on a murder warrant in the fatal shooting of rapper Lowell “Lo” Grissom at a Miami Beach nightclub last year, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Deshawn “Thorobread” Davis, 36, the alleged gunman, was brought into custody Monday in Redway, Calif., by U.S. Marshals deputies. Davis is suspected of opening fire during a party at the GALA Miami nightclub on May 7, 2023, and killing Grissom, a Miami rapper who was also a talent scout for Chris Brown Entertainment.
Davis, of Canada, is also suspected of injuring two women in the shooting, the Marshals said in a news release. The three victims were hit just before 4 a.m. that Sunday inside the GALA at 235 23rd St. in South Beach. All three were taken to Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center, where Grissom died.
Miami Beach police believe the murder was a targeted attack with a “gang nexus,” the news release said. It is unclear when Davis will be transferred for prosecution by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. According to the U.S. Marshals, Davis was already a fugitive in Canada when the South Florida murder took place. In February 2023, the Ontario Provincial Police charged Davis and two others with the January 2022 kidnapping of Elnaz Hajtamiri.
